Welcome to the official website for the documentary BLIMP! Sports, Broadcasting and the Goodyear Airship, which premieres in 2017.

Sports and blimps—what a combination! Add broadcasting into the mix and you have an even bigger, better story.

That’s what this new documentary is all about—how the Goodyear airship went from the brink of extinction to the biggest thing in sports broadcasting.

It’s a story of the blimp, sports and broadcasting, of course; but it’s also about technology, competition and history.

This documentary was made possible by a grant from Ohio Humanities, a state affiliate of the National Endowment of the Humanities.

Screenings of BLIMP! Sports, Broadcasting and the Goodyear Airship

We’ve got two screenings planned for the new documentary BLIMP! Sports, Broadcasting and the Goodyear Airship.

The documentary is an official selection of the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival. That screening is scheduled for Saturday, October 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Township Town Hall in Chagrin Falls. Cost: $10. For additional details and tickets, check out http://www.chagrinfilmfest.org

We’ve scheduled a special screening for the folks in Akron who love the Goodyear airship. It’s scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 6:30 p.m. at Daum Theatre on the University of Akron campus. Not only will you see the documentary but we have a panel scheduled and a reception at Kolbe Hall TV Studio.
